Typed this up a few months ago, but forgot to publish it. I did not proof read so, things are likely to not make sense.
Friday:
Friday:
Flew down to Sydney with Danny and Mitch (Met up with the girls after). After we landed, we took the train/bus to the place we were staying which was in North Sydney. I was actually so amazed at the trains because 1) its a double decker and 2) the seats move. Anyways, after walking around and getting lost for a good 15 minutes, we managed to find the right bus stop.
After meeting our host and dropping off our bags, we decided to go to Westfield Sydney to do a bit of shopping. Ate XLB at Din Tai Fung in the food court and it was so much better than New Shanghai. After about 2 hours we headed back to our place to get ready and head back out for dinner. Met up with some friends for dinner at Holy Basil. We made a booking at 7.30PM, and didn't get a table until 8PM. Aside from the long waiting time, the food tasted pretty good! After we ate, my friends took us down the road to this food market in China Town. Why doesn't Brisbane have anything like this!? Had a few snacks there and headed back to our place to meet up with Vi, Michelle and Stacey. And we headed back out to The Star in separate ubers. Biggest mission trying to find the line for OPM. This random chick sold us tickets by dragging us into the corner and making us pay, it was legit such a dodgy thing because this guy whispered to her, "careful they might see".
We waited in line for about 20 minutes when Danny came out of no where reeking of alcohol. Spent a few minutes outside taking photos then finally headed in. It was packed as fuck and smaller than I thought it would be. I thought they were going to play hardstyle the whole night but nope. From what I can remember, Stacey sat down the whole night because of her heels LOL, and yeah...
Saturday:
The big day, Defqon1! The plan was to leave the house by 8 or 8.30 but that didn't happen. Biggest mission trying to get out of bed since we only managed to get about 3 hours of sleep. Finally left the house and headed to "The Moody Chef" for breakfast/brunch. We took a 1.5hour train ride to Penrith. Finally got off and got on the shuttle bus to the Sydney International Regatta Centre, where Defqon 1 is held. Can't believe we all actually went this year! The day consisted of mainly staying at the mainstage, getting water, going to the toilet and constantly wanting to sit down but couldn't because of all the dj's we wanted to see. The endshow was fricking beautiful. Pictures and videos do not do it justice. Took one of the shuttle buses back to the city and was pretty much asleep the whole way. Got some maccas then headed back home. 11/10 would do it again.
Sunday:
Vi, Michelle and Stacey were heading back to Brisbane. So, we woke up early once again and headed to the Fish Market. I ate one too many oysters. Afterwards, we headed back to Westfield just to do a bit of browsing. Went to Laduree to buy some macarons... and I scammed myself, into buying a $15 box. Like, literally, just the box itself for $15. Then we walked to Uncle Tetsu's to buy cheesecake! And then the girls went home. And I went to check into the next place we were staying at. At night, we had dinner at Ms. G's. We ordered quite a few things and they were pretty nice! The only thing was that the restaurant was really busy and the blasted the music up really loud, so everyone was literally yelling just to hear each other.
Monday:
Went to the Opera House just to say that I've been to the Opera House. Walked a lap then headed to the botanics. I'm a weak ass bitch and I didn't want to walk anymore so we ubered back to the Sea Life Aquarium. It was actually fun. I don't remember anything else. my phone camera is broken thats why theres smudges in the photos.
That big rock... it's actually a fish.
For dinner, we met up with Danny to eat at Chophouse. The steak was okaaaaay. Nothing special. Then we met up with a few mates for dessert then went to play darts at iDarts Zen. I literally broke about 10 darts because I suck. But we played 3 rounds and managed to win one each! Went to get bubble tea and deep fried mushrooms then headed back to our place. I can't believe most restaurants were still opened at 11pm on a Monday night... The bubble tea place was closing at 12am. BRISBANE, WHHHHHY?
Tuesday:
Our last day here. Headed to the fish market once again to eat a lot of oysters. Then headed back to Westfield because I needed to buy some things. Had another quick snack at Din Tai Fung, at their actual restaurant. I ordered some chocolate avocado smoothie and it tasted... shit. Then we took the train to the airport. Danny somehow managed to get flights at 2pm too, what a coincidence. Except he headed to Melbourne.
my eyebrows look too dark here. sssh.
And that sums up the trip. It consisted of waking up early and coming back home late.
