We decided to go to Killarney Glen for a swim and see the heart-shaped pool! So as per usual, we met up at Maccas to eat before heading off.
It was a 2.5km walk down to the rock pools, and had the most difficult walkway (compared to other places we've been to) to get down. That explains why I didn't take any photos or record much. Linh was complaining and constantly slipping, it was pretty funny. When we arrived at the rock pools, it was pretty crowded. We attempted taking photos of the heart-shaped pool, but that was pretty fail. Alec went off exploring, so the rest of us stayed back. Anh was the only brave one, and she actually jumped into the pool! Linh, Thinh & walked through a bunch of vines and bushes to make it down to the rock pools to meet up with Anh. Hopping into the water was so good, because it was such a hot day and the water was sooooo cold!
After chilling in the water for a while with everyone, Anh & Alec decided to go back up and jump into the pools again. I stayed back with Linh & Thinh. We had a pretty good time with them, trying to skip rocks. I was pretty fail, because I threw mine in the wrong direction, released too late, which also made it seem as if I was pegging rocks at Linh & Thinh.
Just casually washing my feet...
Later on Alec & Anh came back. Alec was being a retard and ripping out grass... and ended up cutting himself. He was bleeding so much, but luckily, I had Vaseline, which according to Thinh, seals cuts. Yeah... I tend to bring either Vaseline/Pawpaw ointment with me everywhere because no one likes chapped lips. :P Oh yeah, we had bandaids, first aid kits and everything that day too. It's just that... we left it in the car. Very smart of us.
Eventually, we decided to head back up and try to take more photos of the heart-shaped pool. Then we headed back up. We gave Linh the decision to choose which path to take back up, the 4WD or walking track. And she chose the 4WD track, assuming that it'd be less hard. Little did she know... it was much more steep. It was pretty funny heading back up, because Alec, Anh & me would be up ahead, then we had the little October babies lagging behind and constantly sitting down to rest after every 10 metres ahhaha. #julybabies. After 100 years, we made it back up to the top and it was soooo hot, because we were closer to the sun ;).
We headed to this park area in Browns Plains to kill sometime before meeting up with Duy & Ken for dinner at the city. So we walked for a bit, found this gliding thing, went on it for a bit and went to rest on this table/bench. We were supposed to go walk around the place, but "let us rest for 5 minutes" turned into over half an hour. And before we knew it, we had to go!
It's like a tradition to have hot pot after every trip now! We were all pretty hungry, considering all we had all day was Maccas and water. We ate the spicy crab sushi and it was so chilli, every one had watery eyes!
Afterwards, we decided to go the Doughnut Bar that recently opened in Wintergarden to try out their new scroll ice-cream. It wasn't too bad! We would've eaten more but, we were all pretty full from hot pot.
11/10 would recommend going to Killarney Glen!
